Original equipment and duty
The original motor ran around the clock with fan cooling. Operation showed oil temperatures of 52–59°C, standby consumption and noise concerns. The forming cycle was 150 s, including 80–120 s of holding.
Project duty: 80–120 s holding time; 4.5 MPa system pressure.
02 / ON-DEMAND POWER
Power for motion. Less energy during holding.
The scheme used a standard motor, PLC pressure feedback and an accumulator. The motor stopped during holding after platen motion and restarted below the threshold. The case record reports operation without a cooler after the retrofit.
- 01
Build pressure
Run the motor for clamping or pressing
- 02
Hold pressure
Stop the motor at the set pressure
- 03
Recharge as needed
Restart at the lower threshold
Test conditions and results
The project test covered 72 hours of production with the same materials and process, at 25–32°C ambient temperature and 4.5 MPa system pressure.
What changed after the retrofit
Reported electricity saving 94.3%
Case record date: 2026-03-08
Test record and customer feedback
Test duration / ambient temperature / pressure: 72 h · 25–32°C · 4.5 MPa
Oil temperature (before→after): 55 → 34–38°C
Noise: 76→40 dB.
Acceptance on the first review and fitment to subsequent new machines.
Customer feedback
No servo or inverter; a standard motor and accumulator hold pressure.
