INTERMITTENT PRESSURE HOLDING

Short motions. Long holds. Recharge on demand.

Our intermittent-holding solution combines a standard motor, PLC pressure feedback and an accumulator. After clamping, the accumulator supports pressure while the motor runs only when needed—especially suited to long holding phases.
  1. 01

    Build pressure

A standard three-phase induction motor drives the pump to establish the pressure required for the motion.

  2. 02

    Hold with the motor stopped

During the holding phase, the motor stops and an accumulator supports pressure holding.

  3. 03

    Recharge on demand

A programmable logic controller (PLC) reads the pressure signal, restarts the motor below a set threshold and stops it at the set pressure.

ENGINEERING INPUTS

Start with these three inputs.

  1. 01

Clamping force and effective cylinder area

  2. 02

Holding time, minimum pressure and leakage during cutting

  3. 03

Unclamping response, machine interlocks and available space

New machine integration

Agree space, ports, electrical interfaces and the motion sequence during machine design, integrating energy-saving holding into the platform.

Existing machine retrofit

Record current energy and cycle time, inspect cylinders, valves and pipework, then agree retained components, retrofit scope and downtime.

ENERGY INTO VALUE

Less idle running. More value.

Make each holding phase count. Stop the motor after motion, then recharge when pressure reaches the set threshold, reducing energy use and heat from continuous idle running.

Save 75% or more in short-motion, long-hold applications. Turn reduced electricity use into lower running costs and get more value from every clamping cycle.

CNC machine hydraulic power pack: clamping and holding

Record pressure throughout the holding phase

Have the machine engineer define the required minimum pressure and permitted pressure drop. Record starting pressure, the lowest pressure during the hold, holding time and replenishment starts under the agreed cycle. Review these together with the fixture circuit and machine interlocks; this record is not a substitute for a project-specific acceptance test.

Review the complete workholding cycle

A hydraulic power pack for CNC machine workholding must match clamp movement, holding time and release. Specify the fixture interfaces, simultaneous stations and allowable pressure drop. Review the hydraulic clamping circuit and machine control sequence together before choosing SC-QT.

Specifying a hydraulic power unit for CNC clamping

Provide the fixture circuit, simultaneous stations, clamping response, holding time and permitted pressure drop. Review these with the machine interlocks and release sequence before choosing a power unit. A suitable pressure-holding arrangement must be confirmed for the complete workholding system.
